Where the figures come from

Every statutory figure in KinnWealth is read from the authority that publishes it, and carries the page it came from and the date we read it. Nothing is typed in from memory. Where a figure is our own estimate rather than a published rule, this page says so.

The authorities we read

Singapore

  • Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore — resident income tax rates, and the Supplementary Retirement Scheme rules.
  • Central Provident Fund Board — retirement sums, CPF LIFE payout tables, and account interest rates.

Hong Kong

  • Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority — contribution rules and the end of the offsetting arrangement.
  • Inland Revenue Department, through DATA.GOV.HK — the salaries-tax deduction limits for mandatory MPF contributions.
  • Labour Department — severance and long-service payment limits.

What is our own estimate

Long-run investment returns and inflation are not published rules, so no authority can be cited for them. The ranges we model are our own estimates, informed by published long-term capital market assumptions.

Anywhere one of these sits behind a figure, the figure says so beside it rather than here.

Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department data

The Hong Kong figures we take through DATA.GOV.HK are published under terms that require this acknowledgement wherever they appear, including on paper:

Why the dates matter

Statutory figures change. Each one carries the date we read it, shown as "Rules as at" beside the figure, so you can see how current it is rather than assuming.

A figure whose rule has moved since we read it is a figure we owe you an update on, not a rounding difference.
